Redd & Roxx Collaborations
As an artist-duo, we are creating an ongoing series of photographs and video performances that highlight the impact humans are having on our fragile planet. We hope to inspire positive change by capturing what we stand to lose. Below is a selection from two recent series, “Across the Wilderness,” which placed eco-conscious fashions in remote landscapes of the American Southwest, and “Forgotten,” in which we re-imagine discarded materials and abandoned spaces, creating site-specific wearable art.
Across the Wilderness
“Across the Wilderness” featured garments and accessories that we constructed out of recycled materials (ranging from packaging foam to biodegradable plastic straws), as well as repurposed parachute gowns by independent designer Stone Crow Designs.
In this ongoing series, we travel to forgotten spaces and transform discarded materials into wearable art pieces. Our aim is to demonstrate that the things we think of as “disposable” can be re-used imaginatively.
